Oh, that makes sense thank you.

I know the rules don't matter a whole lot, but what dose the 10 next to A, E, I, O, and T mean? Is it the limit of how many times you can win with those numbers in a single bet? Or is it the maximum amount of funds you can bet on those letters due to their commonality?

What to do about knights though? A playing card deck has no knights equivelent. In the mean time i feel I can just make things up, or make knights wild for their catagory as in knight of swords can be a grimoire or something out of the ordenary like that. Maybe that's the best course of action.

Of course! Thanks again!

What is armored retribution in the context of the plated serpent?

Ok, I appreciate the effort!

I actually really like this! It's the most game like gamification RPG I've seen yet! Also the hacking of the game should allow me to keep my interest for a long time! Oh, but I do have a question, how are wind up strikes used? I'm confused, do they add additional damage to decisive strikes? Are they their own attack? Is wind up necessary to make an attack?Where can I find a weapon's wind up threshold? I seem to not be able to find it in the armory.

Hello, this looks really interesting! But I'm courious about the 1d4 - 1 Mechanic, dose that mean 1d4 minus one? If so dose that stack with subsequent journies untill you essentually roll a zero and are home, because with a d4 that length of journey wouldn't feel consistant with the sheer potential scope of the multiverse in my opinion. Perhapse you intended this game for one shots, if so that mechanic dose make sense. I'm just asking from the perspective of a solo player.

I don't suppose you'd ever make a saving feature? I just discovered this and it's really fun! Shame I can't save my progress though...

Can you fix this? I really want to play, this is exactly the kind of thing I've been looking for! I'm using the Itch app on windows if that helps. Also, [lime.app.Preloader] ERROR: There is no asset library with an ID of "default"  is the error I get when troubleshooting it.

I just wanted to tell you now, you put hearts again where spades should be, otherwise I like it! EDIT: Perfect! Also I did the math and factoring in the cards and dice rolls alone, there are over 500 different prompt combinations, and add in any object you use being the third prompt piece, that brings the total to almost infinity! But I'm sure that was the idea, I'm just amazed at the raw potential this game has for stories!

I know it's not a game, but this looks really fun!

So far this is very good! I'm personally using it to emulate point and click adventures! The same kind of game, but with graphics, just so I have something to picture in my head while I'm playing!

It doesn't seem to say how many letters you start with, or how to get more, unless you're not supposed to. It also doesn't talk about bonus letters. Otherwise this seems fun! EDIT: I think I get the bonus letter and starting letter rules, It seems that you just roll for your starting letter, and choose the rest of the letters to use, and one letter in the word other than the starting letter, ideally one that appears multiple times, to be the bonus letter, afterwards that letter cannot be the bonus letter again.(and maybe even is a letter you can't use at all anymore) That sounds fun, but I think I will houserule that you regain all expended bonus letters after a long rest D&D style.

I just thought of something I wanted to share with the rest of the community! I noticed that if you combine Random Encounter, The Heist, and Strange New World together into one overarching narrative, you get a full fledged dungeon crawler! Random Encounter for fighting monsters, The Heist for evading traps, and Strange New World for environmental obstacles that are neither monsters nor traps! You can even use these for overworld travel!

In the output .txt file, is the number next to the word shard the number of the shard? If so how are shards numbered? I ask this because then were talking about tens of thousands of shards and it doesn't seem to use nearly that many, not that I'm complaining of course I'm just curious. UPDATE: I just checked my current test and it seems that it doesn't start with the number one, so my first assumption must be wrong, I'm still curious though. ANOTHER UPDATE: I just re-downloaded the software and not only is it generating better than before, but also the shard numbering makes more sense. I still am curious though.

Thank you!

How much money do you start out with? It is never explained.

Thank you for the clarification!

This may sound odd, and even power gamey, but how do skills apply to contests? I only ask because you yourself mention in the pdf that contests are partially made to simulate (non lethal) combat in the game and I wanted to explore that, but it wouldn't be fun to build a competitive fighter if skills did nothing, or close to nothing in contests. Also you referenced showing off skills in contests and I wanted to ask you if you didn't mean skills as defined by Iron Valley what did you mean? Also, I did consider just playing Ironsworn, but I like to tinker, and I feel more confident making Iron Valley skills, than Ironsworn assets.

Whenever I run the exe it crashes before I can read what is wrong.

I am notoriously fickle and prone to changing my mind, so no guarantees on how long this series will last however here is the link to my first "night" of play. https://karlknopfstorys.blogspot.com/2024/02/night-1.html  My commentary is in a different font from the actual narrative. I believe it will be self evident which is which. Also, I am a little worried the paragraphs are too long, so any pointers on how to make this post better would be greatly appreciated.

I've noticed that in the table for supernatural mobility, there is no way to get portal creation.

Never-mind, I'm an idiot.

50 cards can't be evenly distributed into 12 piles. What should one do about that?

It seems that 4 and 6 contradict, as they seem to be giving you two different outcomes for the same scenario.

Dose the golden rod allow you to roll for fish value at advantage, or do you combine the two value rolls?

That makes sense, thank you for the reply!

I checked out your game, and I must say I love the concept! However, is there a design reason for leveling only benefiting your opponents? It just seems to me there is no real incentive to play then other than as an excuse to read. Unless that is the whole point and I'm just missing it.

I'm confused, how dose the detriment rule apply to damage? It says it dose but doesn't explain how, at least from what I can tell.
Are you talking about negative damage, as in healing? If so is DM fiat the only thing keeping someone from making OP healing spells? I know this system isn't strict about balance, but still...
Or do you mean damage that hurts the caster and maybe even their allies? That makes more sense.

Here you go! Enjoy!

I just wanted to tell you that this game inspired me to write an actual play as part of the game play! I just posted it to my blog, as I couldn't think of another way I could share it here. If your interested I can post the link to it! You of course were given credit for it's inspiration.

I can't change the save path but really want to. Please help.

Ah, yes I see. Thanks for the response.
